Jessica took the stone out of her purse since the outfit Zoe provided her with lacked any form of pockets. "I wish Zoe was a slutty emo girl, no longer a Goth girl, and although she realizes the changes, she won't be able to act differently then slutty emo Zoe would." The stone glowed. Zoe would no longer be a white-faced goth. From now on she would be an eyelinered emo girl, who was maybe now just sick and depraved enough to really torment Jessica.
Zoe's physical change from goth to emo was not as substantial as Jennifer thought it would be since there's a lot of overlap between the two. But her change from regular goth Zoe to slutty emo Zoe was much more dramatic. Gone were the relatively conservative clothes of the old Zoe, replaced now with a much more revealing ensemble, one that should probably have gotten Zoe kicked out of school. And the new Zoe found that the only thing that would heal her depression was sexual stimulation. She knew what Jennifer had done to her, but she also had an entirely new outlook on life; her old memories and her new desires conflicted, with her body's new urges driving her a little crazy. She was either deeply depressed or sexually stimulated. There was no in between, and the euphoria of sex offered only a temporary respite from the depression, but that, in some ways, made sexual sensations all the more pleasurable: it was the usual pleasure of sex compounded with her higher libido and the elation of leaving a depressive state.
On the one hand, Zoe felt like she'd always been this way. On the other, she knew Jennifer had done it to her. She would get payback.
