Karyn opened the box and took the stone out.
Jon thought fast. He pushed his mom and sister onto the floor and snatched the stone out of Karyn's hand. He ran out into the hall, briefly startled by his younger brother Mikey, who was also wearing the latex body suit. He pushed him out of the way and ran out of the house.
Karyn was angry. "Don't just sit there! Go get him!"
Zoe and Jon's mom stood up quickly. "Yes, Ma'am," they said in unison. They ran out of the house with Mikey trailing them.
Karyn walked outside a few minutes later. "He won't get away. That stone is ours," she said, smiling. Inside her body, however, the real Karyn was screaming.
