Freshman Summer - Penny's visit

"Right here," said Mikey throwing the necklace to Davis
"Perfect, now I can get a few more free meals and drinks before the end of the summer," said Davis before heading out.
Mikey had about a week before Penny came. He used it to hang out with Diane mostly, and go camping again with the girl scouts. They were mulling over a different squad name, since they hadn't been in the girl scouts for years. One time, Davonne convince Mikey to come to the pool to get some free stuff. He put on his bathing suit and went to the pool with his friend. The two pretty teens got plenty of soda that afternoon.
Eventually, Penny and her family came up to visit Mikey and his family. The first afternoon went well, Mikey's family hosted a BBQ for the Lanes visit. Penny's mom Lois came up with her, as did her younger sister Abbie. Ms. Lane mentioned how she and Penny's father divorced a few years ago over the grilling. Apparently, he was not the best of guys. The Lanes renting an apartment near downtown, so it was less than a mile away. Mikey could bike over, or Penny could walk. The families chatted and eventually were talking like old friends, except for Abbie who was a bit bored. Turned out that Lois went to Columbia, and had some food recommendations. Zoe and Lois exchanged numbers. Penny went to the rental place for the night, wanting to get some rest before she and Mikey spend some time exploring the town. Mikey went home and took off the necklace, once again seeing his room change into her room. The trophies, color scheme and desks all did their usual dance. A few year ago, it was terrifying and strange, now it was part of her life.
The next day, the girlscouts met Michelle at the pool. After a few minutes, Penny joined. She looked at Michelle and nodded, before introducing herself to the group. The conversation quickly became a contest about who had the most embarrassing stories about their mutual friend. After some swimming and diving, the girls parted ways with Diane, Michelle and Penny, who walked back to Mikey's house. His parents said hi on the way up to Michelle's room, each taking a seat somewhere.
"So, you are the one that senses magic, huh?" said Diane.
"That's me. Michelle has a bit of it on her. There may be some more in the house in the empty room."
"Jon's?" questioned Michelle, "really?"
"Yes, his room gives me the same...feeling as yours. Can you share what you have going on with me?"
Diane and Michelle looked at eachother. Diane nodded.
"I think it would be best to show you," said Michelle standing from her place on the floor. She took the necklace out of her underwear drawer and put it on. The room shifted, and Penny's eyes went wide.
"You have a magic item in that necklace. I knew something was there. I knew it."
