Jon got to Karyn's house in a few minutes, all the while thinking up new and ever more extravagant ways to use the wishing stone, but he held off until he saw the effects it had on Karyn.

As he walked up to the front of her house, he noticed that her window facing the front yard was wide open, the wind blowing her white curtains inward. He jogged over to the window and knocked before climbing inside. His legs were sluggish and it was more difficult to squeeze in as it had been when he was younger. He felt something drop from his pocket, but didn't have time to investigate before Karyn ran up and hugged him.

"Oh, Jon, I'm so happy you came." She embraced him awkwardly, as he was still half out the window.

"Hey, uh, could you help me in. This isn't as easy as it was a few years ago."

"Sure!" Karyn heaved her body back, almost too quickly for Jon to get balanced, and he was pulled into the room. Jon stood up and dusted himself off, then investigated his best friend.

He almost didn't recognize her. Karyn's overalls were gone, replaced by a green dress with a partly transclucent skirt. It ended above her knee, and fluttered about whenever she moved. He vaguely remembered the dress and how Karyn hated it. She also wore a shiny pair of tights and soft green slippers. Her hair was done up in a perfect bun on top of her head.

"How are you doing, Tinkerbell?"

Karyn's brow furrowed, but she still replied "Quite wonderful." She noticed herself in the mirror then, and flicked a few hairs into place, and took another few moments to admire her body.

"I have a confession to make."

"Yes?" Karyn bobbed hopefully.

"Well," Jon scratched his head, "I made a wish with the wishing stone. And, well, it's about you."

Surprisingly, she still smiled, "Oh? Did you make me rich?"

"No, see, I switched your personality with Tinkerbell from Peter Pan."

Karyn laughed, "That's a joke, right? Tinkerbell is very shy and likes to dress in those baggy clothes. She's nothing like me. Plus, I remember that . . ." Karyn scratched her head, "Wait, doesn't the stone fix everybody's memories so they think the wish is normal?"

"Yes." Jon said, grateful that Karyn was still clever enough to figure everything out.

She jumped up, bouncing on her toes, happy that she figured it out, too. "So I'm really a shy girl who wears baggy clothes?"

"Right. You're not mad at me, are you?"

Karyn laughed, "Of course not, Jon. Maybe being a fairy for a few days will do me good. You know me, always looking on the bright side."

"Good. What wish do you want to make next?"
