Jon Madison (himself) was on his way to meet up with Karyn before dinner, still not realizing he forgot to exclude himself from his own wish. He was almost to Karyn's house, when he was suddenly stopped by someone.
"Hello, Jon," the person said.
He turned around and saw Yukio Meshida, a shy exchange student from the Far East. He couldn't quite remember where. Probably China, or maybe Japan?
"Uh, how ... are ... you?" she spoke slowly. She was still trying to learn the language. But Jon thought she was doing pretty well, considering she had only been there since the beginning of the school year.
"I'm fine, Yukio."
Suddenly both Jon and Yukio felt dizzy. When their heads cleared, Jon watched Yukio walk away ... wearing his clothes! Wait a minute. What had happened?
"Wait!" he yelled, running towards her.
"Yeah? What is it, Jon? Is there something wrong?" Yukio asked.
Jon was stunned. Her accent was gone and she was talking like a native. "You wrong," Jon said. Hold on, he thought. That didn't come out right. Why am I talking like that? He tried again. "You wear my clothes." There it was again. Why was he speaking broken English?
"What? These? I've always worn these," Yukio said. "Listen, I'd love to stay and chat, but I've gotta go see a friend."
"What friend?"
"Her name's Karyn. I'm sure you've seen her at school. Now, if you'll excuse me." Yukio walked away. And it was at this time that Jon finally realized that he was being affected by his own wish. He had just swapped personalities with Yukio Meshida! Yukio was like him and he was like her. But did that mean that Jon was now a foreign exchange student? If so, where was he from?
