Just a few seconds after Jon made his wish, his mother Linda greeted someone who came into the law office. And that person was Richard McMillan (Sarah McMillan's father and CEO of McMillan Tech Industries). Richard was close friends with Linda's boss Gary Fiennes.
"Is Gary in?" Richard asked.
"Yes, he's in his office." Suddenly, both Linda and Richard became dizzy. When their heads cleared, Richard looked up at Linda (who was standing up, wearing a woman's business suit - she looked rich and powerful), and Linda looked down at Richard (who was sitting behind the receptionist desk, wearing a pink shirt and tie - he looked very middle-class).
Linda knew who she was. She was Linda Madison, mother of Jon, Zoe, and Mikey, and CEO of Madison Tech Industries. She was at the law office to visit her old friend Gary Fiennes.
Richard knew who he was. He was Richard McMillan, father of Sarah, and the receptionist at the law office he was now in.
"He's not with a client, is he?" Linda asked.
"No, he's free for the next half hour," Richard said, remembering that his boss had an appointment with a banker before the end of the day.
Linda grinned at Richard, then walked to Gary's office.
