Jon decided that he wanted to watch his family acting like each other. However, then Jon thought about Karyn. He wanted to include her, too. "In fact," Jon thought, "why not include her entire family?"
Karyn had been adopted. Her parents were young, both now only 31. David Scott worked as a construction foreman while Hannah Scott worked part time at a bookstore. After Karyn, the Scotts had also adopted another child, a boy named Richard. Richard was a nerd, and looked the part. He was covered in pimples, wore large glasses, and spent most of his time watching star trek or playing dungeons and dragons and the like. The Scott's only child was Sally, a six-year old girl just beginning kindergarten. The Scott's were very close friends of the entire Madison family.
