After the flash subsided, Jon checked himself over. He didn't look buffer, like he expected to. In fact, he almost looked weaker, thinner, frail almost.
Jon assumed that the wish didn't work retroactively like he expected, so he wouldn't just gain everything Biff's personality had.
He was just wondering how Karyn was coping with her new personality, when his phone rang. That's weird. He usually didn't have a phone in his room.
He turned around towards the phone and finally got a look at his room. He was shocked. His walls were painted light pink instead of white, he had a full-size dresser, and his bed had become a loft bed adorned with stuffed animals.
Either Biff was a real fruit or something about his wish didn't go right.
The phone rang again, making him jump. He quickly answered it, discovering that it was Karyn. But she didn't quite sound like herself. In fact, she sounded quite a bit like Biff, making Jon think that maybe he was right about his concern that the wish didn't get granted the way he wanted.
"Hey, babe. What's up?"
"Karyn? Is that you?" Jon asked.
"Sure it's me, babe."
"Why are you talking like that?"
"Like what? Listen, babe, I just wanted to know if ..." She paused for a moment and Jon heard her talking to someone in the background. "Dude, seriously. I'm on the phone with my girl." Then her voice returned to the foreground. "Sorry, babe. Mike's being a real ass, again."
What was happening? Didn't Karyn remember who she really was? But then he remembered. He didn't make that part of his wish. She really thought she was a jock!
"... could spend tonight together," Karyn finished. Jon wasn't paying attention to her. He was so caught up in his own thoughts. He only heard those last few words. "Well?" Karyn asked.
She was obviously expecting an answer. What was Jon going to say?
