"That movie was great," Sarah said, walking out of the theater.
"Yeah, it was," Jon said.
"Great?" Tim said. "That was freakin' awesome."
They all smiled. Then Jon remembered that he was gonna call Karyn. He took out his cellphone, and was about to make a call, but Sarah interrupted him.
"Are you excited to see Aunt Linda?"
"Huh?"
"Jon, I already told you that she was coming this weekend. With her job, she barely ever gets to come to town."
Jon strained to remember something Sarah said earlier in the week about her aunt. It seemed like an eternity ago, but it had only been about four days.
"Sorry, Sarah. I forgot. How long is she visiting for?"
"Just tonight."
"She's only coming to town for a few hours?"
"No, she lives here."
"But I thought that you said ..."
"Jon. You know full well that Aunt Linda travels for her job but lives in town. What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing. I just forgot again." This was getting out of hand. Jon didn't know anything about anything in this reality. He couldn't just wing it forever.
"Well, she should be there by now. Come on," Sarah said, pulling Jon along with her. Tim and Pete went off and did something else, leaving Jon alone with Sarah.
