Karyn made her wish, but nothing happened.
"What's happening? Why didn't my wish work?"
"Because I made a wish a few days ago that no one but me could use the stone. I didn't want anyone making things worse."
"Worse? How much worse could they get?"
"Listen, Karyn. This thing is going to happen no matter what. I can't reverse the wish. And it's only going to be three more times. Then everything will be back to normal. Just wait it out."
Karyn sat down on Jon's bed. "I don't think I could just wait it out."
"What difference does it make to you? You won't even remember anything. I mean, unless ..."
"Unless what?"
"Unless I make you aware of the change." Jon turned around and walked a few steps away. "No. I won't do that. It might make things worse."
"It probably would." Karyn stopped and thought for a few seconds. "Do it."
"Huh?"
"I'm still mad at you. But now I'm curious. I want to know what my life would be like if it was different. I don't want to miss this chance."
"Are you sure about this?"
"Yes. Do it."
"Okay. I wish that when Karyn goes through her personality swaps she will have her memories from this reality." The stone glowed and Jon's wish was granted. "There, it's done."
