Jon's alarm clock woke him up to a sunny Wednesday. The day before was interesting, but he was more than happy to have things back to normal. But it wouldn't be today. He'd have to follow through on his wish, since he couldn't reverse it.
After he got ready for school and walked downstairs, he spotted Zoe at the kitchen table. Today, she was wearing a plain white conservative blouse under a sweater vest and a long beige skirt. Her brown hair was greasy and unkempt. And her face looked tired.
"Hi, Zoe," Jon said.
"Hi. Sarah's outside waiting for you."
"Huh?" he asked, forgetting that Sarah was Jon's friend in this reality. "Oh, yeah."
Jon walked out the front door and spotted Sarah. Today was a little cooler outside, so she wore the green sweater that Karyn wore a lot, jeans, and sneakers.
"Ready?" she asked.
"Yeah." They walked to school.
