Jon was about to slip away when Zoe suddenly opened one of the playhouse windows near him and found him standing right outside it. "Uh ... hi, Zoe." It was all he could manage to get out. He was so flustered.
"Hi, yourself, Jon," Zoe playfully greeted the rather flabbergasted teenager, who had seemingly appeared right outside her playhouse window. "Wanna play house? I can be the mommy and you can be the daddy. It'll be so much fun! Please, please, please!"
"O-kay," Jon finally said, giving in and making the childishly dressed teenage girl smile ear to ear. Never before had Zoe been so cheery or nice to him. He didn't know what to say or do. Normally she was such a hothead and a pain in the ass. Now that she had his cousin Sally's personality, though, she was as sweet and nice as could be. It was quite eerie and more than a bit unsettling. To hear the former Goth talk about playing house and to seemingly enjoy doing so was beyond weird.
Despite all this, Jon joined in and played house with Zoe for a good half hour, before she grew tired of it and wanted to do something else. She clearly had his cousin's short attention span as well as her style and personality. Jon wasn't complaining though. But playing house only had so much of an appeal to him.
"You're fun, Jon. I like playing with you," Zoe told Jon. "Now, let's play something else," she suggested mischievously.
