He was about to make a wish, but was interrupted when he heard the doorbell ring. Thinking it was Karyn, he rushed down to answer the door. But it wasn't Karyn. It was Sarah.
"Hi, Jon," she said pleasantly.
"Um ... hi?"
"Hi, Jim," she said to his dad. He turned around and saw his dad. And he was somewhat surprised when the expression on his dad's face went from depressed and worn-out to moderately happy.
"Hi, Sarah. It's good of you to come over."
Sarah reached out and squeezed Jon's arm, but in a loving way. Just like his mom used to do. "Are you alright, Jon?"
It definitely shocked Jon that Sarah could act so much like his mom, but he was also relieved. His wish had turned his mom into a total bitch, but it also made Sarah into a caring and loving person. If there was any upside to his wish, it was this.
"I'm okay. But Zoe ..."
She sighed, as if this wasn't the first time. "It's okay. I'll go see her." She walked upstairs to Zoe's room.
Jon never thought he would ever think that it was good to see Sarah.
