After a couple more minutes of moping, the garage door opened. Moments later, Scott came running into the house.
"Hey mom! I had the best day!"
"What'd you do champ?"
"I learn more math, won the race in gym and had the best thing for 'making a story' in English class."
"What'd you bring? Was it your baseball glove? One of your comic books?"
"Na, I brought this thing," said Scott taking out the medallion from his pants.
"Where'd you find that?"
"Yea, Scott, where'd that come from?" asked Susan putting away the shoes that Scott left out.
"I found it in the drawer. I took it out and it looked so old, I figured it had to have a good story."
"Probably does, " said Alan.
"Well, we decided it granted wishes in 'making a story."
"Did anyone else play with it?" asked Susan
"No, only the person that brought the thing in can touch it, not even the teacher."
"That sounds like a good rule." said Alan, "may mommy have it?"
"Not yet mom, I need to finish my story in my room. So far, the princess wished for flight and has been exploring new lands, finding strange new animals. Kinda like a platypus, but different animals."
"I guess he'll have to keep it for his story Susan," said Susan smirking.
"I guess so Alan," replied Alan turning to Scott, "just let me know when you are done with it so I can put it back."
"I can put it back mommy, I know where it came from, " said Scott walking to his room.
"Well, I guess that solves that mystery, dear, " said Susan
"I guess so. I just hope nothing bad happens to him before he gives us back the medallion."
