Finally finishing her comic book, Zoe looked up at Jon and smiled. "Hey, big bro. What's up?" she asked cheerfully. It was so weird to see Zoe smile. Usually she was in a bad mood. "You wanna see a new comic I got today?"
"Sure." It was all he could say. He was just so astounded by her mood. She was actually happy.
Her face brightened even more. "Thanks, Jon." She pulled him down onto the floor and opened up the comic book.
"What's this one about?" Jon asked.
Zoe seemed to get even more excited, as she told him all about the comic book. The old Zoe hated comics, so it was amazing to see this version of her love them so much. Maybe a little too much, actually.
When she was done, and nearly out of breath from all the excitement, she proceeded to actually show Jon the comic book, instead of just telling him about it.
But truth be told, he was actually paying more attention to Zoe than the comic book. He was constantly amazed by how different (or better?) his sister was in this reality. He almost didn't want to check up on Mikey. But with seven days to go, he'd have plenty of opportunities to interact with his little brother. Right now, he wanted to spend his time with his sister. It felt so weird to think that.
