As if coming out of a daze, Jon's father (Mark) turned the car back towards the direction of home. And within minutes, they were in the driveway, getting out and heading into the house.

Usually, Mark headed directly to the family room to watch some sports on TV, but today he didn't. Instead, he found himself walking upstairs and into Zoe's bedroom. He had been in his gothic daughter's room before, but he never felt comfortable there, like he did now.

He looked at himself in the bedroom mirror and thought I need a new look. Then he began to strip out of his clothes and don some of Zoe's.

Mikey usually went straight to his bedroom to read his new comic books, but today he didn't. Instead, he found himself walking upstairs and into Jon's bedroom. It was strange, but he felt more comfortable there than anywhere else.

Zoe usually went straight to her bedroom to get away from her family and be alone with herself and her metal music, but today she didn't. She actually felt like watching sports on TV, although she had no idea why. She was never into sports before. But before she did that, she decided that she needed to get out of these Goth clothes. For the first time ever, they were disturbing her. So, she walked upstairs to her room, but when she approached the door, she paused. She didn't feel like going in there, but instead she felt like going into her parents' bedroom. So she did. And once inside, she stripped out of her clothes and donned some of her father's.

Looking in the mirror, she suddenly felt both comfortable and awkward. Wasn't it kind of strange to be wearing her father's clothes?

Usually, Jon's mother (Jane) went straight to the kitchen, to start making dinner. But today, she thought that doing that was stupid. Especially when she could be doing something more fun, like playing in Mikey's bedroom and reading his comic books. So, she excitedly ran up the stairs and into Mikey's bedroom. And then she jumped onto Mikey's bed, not worrying if it might have collapsed under her weight. (The bed was made for a kid, remember.)

When Jon entered the house, he watched, in amazement, as his parents and siblings all walked in different directions. Different than normal, that was. His curiosity of the situation overrode the experiment's effects on him, for the moment, as he followed them around the house. He noticed that his father entered Zoe's room, Zoe entered his parents' room, his mother entered Mikey's room, and Mikey entered his room.

Jon had an urge to start making dinner (although he wasn't exactly sure what to make, or how to make it), but he had a stronger urge to check up on Mikey. It had nothing to do with motherly concern. Rather, it had everything to do with the wishing stone. The last time Jon had it, he was in his bedroom. It might still be in there, and he didn't want Mikey to have it.
