A breeze swept over Jon that made him close his eyes. When he opened them, he noticed that his bedroom had changed. Not too much, but definitely different. His video games were gone. The shelf that held them now held books. He picked one up. It was a romance novel. All of them were romance novels. Normally, he'd find that sort of literature as girly mushy stuff. But now, he actually felt compelled to sit in his chair and read some of it.
Instead, he put it back on the shelf. "I'll read it later." He turned and noticed other things different. All of his action and sci-fi movies were gone, replaced by romance and romantic comedies. He picked one and put it in his VCR. A few minutes into it, he began to cry. "This part always make me sad," he said out loud, before realizing that he had never even watched that movie before. And why was he so emotional? Was his mom this emotional?
He removed the tape and put it back on the shelf. He decided to put the stone away and check out what had happened with his mom.
Before he left, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He didn't really notice it before, but he was wearing a pair of tan capri pants and a girl's T-shirt. It felt totally fine to wear something like that, even though Jon knew that someone like him shouldn't be.
He headed out into the hallway and down to his mom's room.
