Jon watched Sarah walk away, and was about to enter a nearby store, but stopped when he saw Sarah meet up with another girl near the entrance to the mall.
Suddenly, Jon began to feel jealous. Who was that girl? And why was she talking to Sarah?
Jon moved closer (close enough to hear, but not to be seen) and realized that the girl was Karyn.
"You made a date with Jon?" Karyn asked.
"Yeah," Sarah said. "What's wrong with that?"
"Come on, Sarah. What's wrong with that? Really? Jon's a bitch."
With that, Jon's temper went up. A bitch? Who the hell did she think she was?
"Maybe," Sarah said. "But I asked him out and he said yes."
"There's nothing I can say to make you not go?" Karyn asked.
"No."
"You know I'm just trying to be a good friend, right?"
"Yeah, I know. But I can take care of myself," Sarah said.
Sarah and Karyn then parted ways, leaving Jon still bubbling in anger over what Karyn said about him.
