Zoe (who was now mentally Jon) left her bedroom and knocked on her brother's door. When she did, the door moved open slightly. It was enough to peer inside, so she did.
It was so weird. That used to be her bedroom, but now it looked more like ... well ... the original Zoe's room.
What she saw was a Goth version of Jon. He was skinnier and paler than he used to be, and he was wearing an only slightly more masculine version of the clothing that the original Zoe used to wear. He had on black leather boots with a slight heel, a knee-length black ripped skirt, and a fishnet shirt. He also had several piercings and at least one tattoo, that she could see. His hair was spiky and dyed black, and he was wearing heavy eye makeup and black lipstick.
At the moment, Jon was at his computer browsing MySpace profiles. Suddenly feeling her out, Jon twisted in his chair and spun around, glaring at Zoe. "What do you want, twerp?" he said, sounding annoyed.
"Uh ... Mom says dinner's ready," Zoe said.
Jon groaned. "Fine. I'll be down soon. Just make sure you close the fucking door on your way out." Then he turned back to his computer.
Zoe left the room, closing the door as she did. She still couldn't get the image of the new Jon out of her head. If her wish had gone the way she wanted, that could have been her in there.
She was suddenly grateful that she had instead turned into Zoe. A normal Zoe.
