Deciding he didn't want to hang around the house anymore, Jon decided to go out. Finding that he no longer had any interest in visiting the mall (in fact, the more he thought about it, the more he hated the mall and everyone who fucking shopped there), he decided to head over to occult store where he recalled Zoe hanging out on more than one occasion.
Walking up to the place, he had a weird sense of deja vu. Stepping in the thick black door, he found himself pleased to see shelves lined with old tomes, skulls, demonic jewlery, and CDs of heavy metal music. He spotted a girl from his 5th period Geometry class over on the next aisle, looking at a large leather-bound book on Wicca. Deciding to try something, he walked over to her.
"Hey Sabrina, what's up?" he said.
Looking up, Sabrina smiled a wicked little smile at him. Jon had never seen her do anything but frown and curl her lip with disgust before, so this was a totally new sight for him. "Not much, just looking to get a new book. What are you doing down here?"
"Just browsing," he replied. He looked her over. Sabrina wasn't bad looking, at 5'6", she had a decent figure and average breasts. But she had a really cute face and beautiful blue eyes. She dyed her hair a bright pink and wore heavy black makeup, and whereas before Jon had felt that her piercings and tattoos really killed her beauty, now he found that they only made her look better. But where he expected to be attracted to her (as he had been secretly in the past), now he found that his attraction to her appearance had been replaced by admiration. He found himself wondering where he could get a corset similar to hers, and had to stop himself from asking her where she had her tattoos done. After all, he didn't want to do anything that would last past the end of the week.
Sabrina spoke again, derailing Jon's train of thought. "So hey, you going to the party over at Trevor's tonight?"
Jon didn't really know Trevor, but knew who she was talking about. "Maybe," he said. "Depends on whether my parents decide to fuck with me again."
"Yeah, I know how that is," she replied, giving him a knowing look. "Well, I have to run, but I hope to see you there."
Sabrina walked past him with the book she'd been holding and paid the guy at the desk for it (Jon caught himself thinking that the guy working the register was pretty cute). He thought about what Sabrina said as she walked out of the store. A party could be lots of fun.
