Jon disappeared from the mall food court, then instantly reappeared in a Goth club that he remembered Zoe going to now and then. It was called The Spiked Pit. Jon looked around the darkened club. It was a giant room with a bar along the far wall and a DJ's table in the back corner. There were stand-up tables located all along the walls and a giant "pit" in the middle of the room that sunk down slightly into the floor. The floor was painted red and black, intended to make it look like a pool of blood.
The club was very crowded and the metal music was very loud. At first, he was overwhelmed by the commotion and shocked by the freakish look of the people around him, but then he started to feel comfortable. They were, in fact, no more freakish than Jon.
