"I know this is going to sound like a dumb question, but how does Dad feel about Mom being a Goth and all?" Jon asked his sister.

Zoe displayed a look of confusion on her face.

"What?"

"Jon, Dad's been dead for over ten years. Are you feeling okay?"

"Ten years? But ... I just saw him yesterday," Jon said, in shock.

"Did you just get knocked over the head or something?"

"No. I ..." But what was he going to tell her? That he exchanged Zoe's personality with his mom's? He didn't think she'd believe him. And even if she did, she might hate him for what he did to her.

"Yes? You what?"

"I meant to say yes. I bumped my head on the wall in my room and I didn't want you to get ... um ... concerned." It was as good of a story as any.

"Well, why didn't you say that?" She walked over to the phone and picked it up.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm calling the doctor. You might have a concussion."

Jon walked over to her and grabbed the phone away from her. "That won't be necessary. I feel better now. Memories are coming back and all."

"Okay, big shot. Tell me why Mom went Goth."

Jon was stumped. Of course he didn't know, he was just pretending so that he wouldn't have to go to the doctor. But then he remembered that he had the stone. He whispered "I wish to know why Mom went Goth."

"What did you say?" Zoe asked.

Jon suddenly knew and told Zoe, all the while being shocked by the details. "After Dad died, Mom became distant from everyone. She was obsessed with Dad's death. She loved him so much that she couldn't let him go. She visited his grave every day for two years, then she discovered that she wasn't going to the cemetery to visit Dad's grave. She was going to the cemetery because she felt comfortable there, among all the graves. She started to become interested in death and the occult. Then her interest became an obsession. And before both of us knew what was happening, Mom started to hang out with other Goths and started to dress like other Goths and started to do things that other Goths do. She had become a Goth herself."

"Wow! You could have said it was because Dad died. You didn't have to lay out her life's story."

Jon couldn't believe that the stone had done that much when he switched their personalities. Maybe the stone really had no limitations. He had to be careful, or else something drastic will happen that he won't be able to reverse, like the human race never existing or something.
