Jon noticed something else with the photos, though: none of them were recent. He saw plenty of his older photos of him and Karyn, like when they were in middle school, and in the ninth grade (when she had apparently really gone goth), but the more recent photos he had previously had of him and her had all been altered. Instead, photos of him and his sister had replaced them (except for last year's homecoming photo--that one had some other girl. Jon had seen her in the halls, but didn't recall speaking to her very often). He looked at a photo of him and Zoe at Six Flags, taken the previous summer. That had been him and Karyn before.

He wondered how his relationships with each had shifted.

Walking over to his sister's room, he saw her door was slightly open (it was usually always closed). Knocking as he walked in, he was surprised to find it identical to how he remembered Karyn's room at her house being.

Zoe was at her computer, listening to Blink 182 (Karyn loved them) and surfing the net. She was wearing what Jon would have previously thought to be Karyn's clothes: a bright pink tanktop and flare leg jeans. Interstingly, she now had long blonde hair and much larger breasts, though it wasn't immediately obvious to Jon why. She spun around on her chair as she heard him come in.

"Hey Jon, what's up?"

"Oh, um, not much Zoe. What are you up to?"

"Just surfin' the net," she shrugged.

"Ah, ok." he responded. He really didn't know what to say. This was a longer, more civil conversation than he could recall having with Zoe in a long time.

"Jon, I don't know about you, but I can't stop thinking about grandpa's rock."

Now the blonde hair and larger bustline made sense to Jon. He hadn't been hanging out with Karyn yesterday, he'd been hanging out with Zoe. Hell, they'd probably read the letter together.

"Yeah, Zoe?"

"Yeah. I think we should have some fun with it. I mean, I think if we're careful, it shouldn't be a problem."

Jon smirked at this. Sure, why not? He thought to himself. Seeing Karyn and her changes could wait, and anyways, what was the worst that could happen? Besides, he might have fun hanging out with his sister.

"Ok, hold on a sec," he said as he went back to his room to grab the stone.
