"I have a better idea, why don't we wish to learn about the stone and it's past. That way we can find out why the stone was made and by whom."

Jon thought about that for a moment.

"Okay, but we should find out the cost first."Jon said and closed his eyes. "Damn, I don't know what the stone has in mind for that one but it's going to cost a life and a half."

Karyn looked shocked, but she nodded. Jon hesitantly took the stone into his hand and paused for a moment, knowing that he was about to use up the life of another human.

"I wish that we could know about the stone's past, who made it and why."

The stone glowed and the room dissolved around Jon and Karyn. For a moment the two felt a horrid sucking feeling, as if they were being flushed down a toilet and then the world became clear at vivid around them.

Jon staggered, he and Karyn had been transported to a small mountain village in Peru. The mountain, being high in the Andes mountains, was much higher than anywhere Jon had ever been before. Both he and Karyn were gasping for breath since they were in thin air up here. After a moment they climatized enough to look around.

The village was basically made of stone, with thatch rooves on the huts. Smoke rose out of holes in the hut roofs and the villagers, (like all Peruvians) were short and stalky with large chests. In addition to this, it looked as though they had their heads flattened into points, (which they had.)

Jon realised that he and Karyn had been transported to an ancient Inca village. This must be where the stone was created.

A villager came up the hill towards where Jon and Karyn stood and without even pausing walked through Jon as if he wasn't there. Jon and Karyn exchanged shocked glances.

"I guess we don't exist to the people in this village." stammered Karyn

"Yeah, it's like we're ghosts or something." Jon replied. "So should we try to find out where the stone is now?"
