Jon sent a message to Julie informing her he had gotten detention. She was quick to ask for an explanation and once more complained about Jon causing her to worry. From what Jon had learned of her original life it made sense that she openly showed concern for her kids when things weren't going well. Some part of her likely remembered how hard it was to not have enough money, or worry that she and her mom would not have a place to stay at times. He explained about his phone, and while she reprimanded him and promised they'd talk about it later Jon felt he was getting off easier than he would have with Linda as his mom.
He was still having difficulty believing Linda was the reason he'd need to stay late. The social status and wealth that had come from being a McMillan, along with gaining aspects of Sarah's life had warped her. At least it wouldn't be much longer until she was out of that role, and hopefully onto something better. Even if she ended up fat, nerdy, younger, older or whatever she wouldn't be looking down on him anymore.
"Hey Jon, want to hang out for a while before heading home?" Jon found Samantha heading his way. She was followed by Angela, Carly and Aisha. Apparently they were a closer friend group than he had first realized.
"I wish I could, but I've got detention." Jon sighed.
"Really Jon? For what?" Aisha was the first to ask, but all the girls wanted to know.
"Linda McMillan called me out for checking my phone." At the mention of Linda's name the whole group understood.
"Like she has any room to talk. I constantly see her on her phone in class, but the teachers never do anything about it." Angela looked disgusted at the hypocrisy.
"And if any of us said anything it would be social suicide." Carly said miserably.
Jon appreciated the sympathy, but he thought of something. Yesterday the wish had switched people that were on school grounds. With classes letting out a little earlier there was a chance these girls could get out of harms way before the next swap happened. They could escape getting jumbled up for another day if things went well.
His gaze turned to Samantha. Well, all of them except Samantha. He had wished to have a different girlfriend everyday, and that meant that no matter where Samantha went she was going to be part of a new family. He could only hope that the stone was kind to her.
"It sucks, but at least you all can go home." Jon tried to act normal. He just needed to gently steer the group away from the school.
"Are you sure Jon? We don't have any homework, and we can wait for the buses instead of walking home." Angela offered, and the other girls concurred.
"I don't mind waiting for you." Carly said shyly, her face turning red. "I have to wait for my mom to pick me up anyway."
Jon remembered what Zoe was doing while her daughter was waiting in school. He shook it off, and tried again.
"I appreciate it, but you don't have to." He tried.
"Don't you want a group of beautiful girls waiting for you when you get out of lockup?" Aisha teased. "We're staying, and you're escorting us home."
"Is there a reason we shouldn't?" Samantha asked. She mouthed the word "stone" and Jon nodded slightly. Thankfully it seemed she had picked up on his worries. She didn't know what his wish was, but hopefully she understood it was better for them to leave.
"There you are Jon. I thought I'd come fetch you so you didn't run off on me. There's so much to do, and I could really use your assistance." The group found Tiffany walking their way. The sexy strut she'd put on for Jon earlier that day was gone, replaced by a natural stride. Her tone was also more professional, likely to hide her intentions from the girls around him.
"You need help with something Principal Morse?" Carly spoke up.
"Jon here agreed to help me with a few tasks. Nothing too strenuous, I assure you." Tiffany chuckled, and Jon was sure she'd intentionally sent her bosom bouncing.
"Well, Jon got detention, so I guess he messed up that promise." Aisha laughed.
"Maybe we could help instead?" Angela offered.
"Jon you naughty boy. Well, seeing as I'm principal I can call your help time served for detention if you wish." Tiffany offered, but Jon could see the trap. He'd hoped to escape Tiffany, and detention had actually been a blessing in that case. Now he feared he'd be alone with a cougar he knew wanted to seduce him.
