This time the color of the sky was yellow. As soon as it happened, Emily's body began to change. Or did it? Seconds later, Emily became just a couple years older and the saleswoman had become about twenty-one. Charlie certainly didn't feel much difference, and neither did the saleswoman, appearance-wise. But her speech might have had more energy to it now.
"So, will you be interested in our kitchenware?," the slightly younger saleswoman finally asked. Despite the more youthful persuasion, it still wasn't enough to convince Charlie. He refused the offer and saleswoman turned away, looking more dejected than expected.
Charlie looked down at Emily's new body, which was still pregnant. She was a little older, but that was about it. He was glad that out of all the colors the sky could have been, it was yellow. Even though Emily lost a couple years of her life, this result was probably better than the others.
