"I wish for a device that would allow me to switch the roles of whatever it targets, be they a person, an animal, or even an object. There will be a function that returns everything affected by this to their original places. Finally, any changes will only be noticed by the one who used the device, as well as myself and Karyn, regardless of who uses the device."
As Jon finished the wish, a smallish gadget, similar to a cartoon ray gun, appeared in his hand. On its side was a small plate that read 'Role Exchanger'.
"So let me get this straight." Karyn said, looking at the R.E. "This will change the positions of two targets, such that they take on the other target's role. Any changes we make affect reality so it appears to have always been that way, and we'll notice regardless of who fires it, but a person would only notice the changes they make. Is that right?"
"That's right. Basically it means that if I use it on someone, you'll notice the changes, and the same goes for me if you're the one to use it. Plus, if it gets used by someone else, we'll be able to tell that it's been used, and if one of us is affected by it, we'll not be affected mentally." Jon explained.
"Sounds alright. So, who or what do we test it on?" Karyn asked.
"Well, let's try something small." Jon replied, opening the door...
