"Jon, please," Karyn said, begging for Jon to stop.
Suddenly, Jon fell into a laughing riot.
Karyn's face twisted into confusion, then into anger. "Jon, you fucking bastard!"
"Oh, Karyn," Jon said, between laughs. "You should've seen the look on your face. You actually thought ..."
Karyn's eyes were burning. "That wasn't funny!" She darted towards him and snatched the gun out of his hand, which caused him to stop laughing immediately. "Let's see how you like being a slut."
"Wait. Karyn. I wasn't really going to change you. I was just joking. It was a joke."
"Do you see me laughing?" Karyn asked, still angry that her best friend would pull a stunt like that.
"Just calm down, okay? Put the gun down."
"I wonder what it would do if I used it on a guy," Karyn thought aloud, almost as if Jon weren't even there.
"Come on, Karyn. You had your fun. We're even now."
"Oh, I don't think so," she said. No way did Jon feel like what she felt a minute ago. She gripped the gun, making it look like she was about to pull the trigger.
