Confused as to why Zoe and Mikey were acting so strangely, Jon walked out of the house after them, and Karyn followed.
He looked towards the street and saw his brother with his friend Athena. The gothic girl was pulling him, seemingly against his will. It was strange. Mikey had always gotten along so well with Athena. He wondered why they were fighting.
"Let me try this thing again," Jon said, then he shot both Mikey and Athena with the random swapper. The two of them immediately stopped fighting each other, but nothing seemed to change.
"Nothing's different ... again," Karyn said.
"Maybe it doesn't work," Jon said.
"It worked on us," Karyn said, glancing down very briefly at the bulge in her pants, which was proof enough.
"You're right," Jon said. "But how come it's not working on anyone else?"
"Maybe the swap is psychological. They are acting strange, you know," Karyn said.
"Maybe that's what it is. It's just that ... well ... I was hoping that the changes would be a bit more visual."
"Come on, Mikey," Athena said, pulling Zoe's brother. "What's wrong with you?"
Suddenly, Athena was hit by an intense white light and the same was done to Mikey.
