"Leaving for school early today, huh?" Jon heard his mom say suddenly.
"Jeez, Mom. Why do you have to sneak up on me like that?" Jon asked.
"I wasn't sneaking up on you. Now, where are you going in such a hurry?"
"I'm just ... running an errand. I'll be back to get my stuff."
"Well, be quick. I don't want you being late for school."
"Okay, Mom," Jon said. Then both Jon and Karyn left the house.
Within another five minutes, they made it the McMillan house. Sarah's car was still parked in the driveway, so she hadn't left for school yet.
"How do you want to do this?" Karyn asked.
"Well, I was just gonna ring the doorbell and when she answers it, I was gonna blast her. Simple."
"What if Sarah isn't the one who answers the door?"
"Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. I guess I could just make up a story to get myself in there. Then I'd just wait until I see her."
"Why not just stay out here and wait for her to come out?" Karyn asked.
Jon shrugged. "Okay, fine."
So, they waited. After five minutes, though, Jon got restless. "I'll be right back." He ran towards the house.
"Jon! Wait!" Karyn yelled, but he wasn't listening. "Why does he always have to be so impatient?"
