To tell the truth, school wasn't really all that different than usual. She was still friends with Tim and Pete, just like she was before. It's just that Jon wasn't there with her too. She had spotted Zoe's friends and saw that they were still Goths, just like in the normal reality. It was actually a little disappointing that both Jon and his sister didn't seem to have much of an influence on things. She didn't think that the new reality would be drastically different, but she was expecting something different to at least stand out.
When school was over, Karyn was left with a choice. Go home or try to find a way to get to the next town where Jon's aunt and cousin lived.
