Nearly ten minutes had passed before Jon decided to see what was happening for himself. Why was Karyn taking so long? And what were those crashing noises from downstairs?
He crawled out his bedroom and into the hallway. Looking up, everything seemed so big. His house seemed more like a mansion. But that was because he was so small. It would take him nearly forever to get anywhere.
As he crawled, he saw Zoe's bedroom door open. But the person who came out wasn't Zoe. It was an old woman wearing Zoe's clothes. From Jon's vantage point, though, he couldn't see that the old woman was Mrs. Wilson, one of his neighbors. She walked to the stairs and then turned to go down them, leaving Jon alone in the hallway once again.
Jon kept on crawling until he made it to Mikey's bedroom. It was at this time that he got a shock. Instead of Mikey in the room, he saw Sarah McMillan! She was all dressed up in her usual girlie preppy clothes, but she was playing a video game. She hated video games, which she bluntly pointed out, now and then. But, of course, this wasn't Sarah. It was his little brother Mikey in Sarah's body. Apparently, he didn't seem all that bothered that he had the body of a teenage girl. Or maybe he hadn't noticed yet?
Jon turned back towards the stairs, right as he heard the front door slam. That must be Zoe leaving, he thought. She always had to make a show of things.
When he got to the stairs, he stopped, not quite sure of how he was going to get down them. While he analyzed his situation, the doorbell rang. A moment later, he saw a little girl (who was that?) open the door and on the front porch was ... himself!
