"What are you writing?" Zoe asked Jon. She really just wanted to get back to what she was doing before getting interrupted by their dumb maid, but if her stupid brother was writing something bad about her, she wanted to know it. She walked over to him and snatched the pencil out of his hand, before he could write anymore. She looked down at the paper and saw "Zoe has always been" written down. It was only part of a sentence. "What the fuck is this?"
"Eet eez a mageek pen-cil," Babbette said, causing Jon to glare at her.
"Magic pencil? What the fuck makes it magic?"
"Eet changes ree-al-i-tee."
"Babbette, silence," Jon snapped.
"Are you shitting me?" Zoe asked, then smiled. It was a rare thing. She was always so gloomy and rude. But now she had a reason to be happy. If Jon was really this upset about her having the pencil, then it must be real. She brought the pencil to the paper and then began to finish the sentence that Jon started, not realizing that everyone's memories (including her own) would change to match the new reality created.
When Zoe was done writing, the sentence on the paper read as "Zoe has always been ..."
