Princess Noellene formed a smile as she stared at Lady Samantha, “I can offer you the return to your natural form.”
Albert could see the eagerness in his Lady’s eye but she didn’t immediately as she tried to take in the words of the fae. The paladin had never told her squire about any dealings with the fae but he strongly suspected she had. There was a fear of the word of the fae. He had heard the stories of their trickery but Samantha seemed genuinely afraid.
“I agreed to take you Tranquil Falls in exchange you will use your magic to assist me in the way I ask,” Lady Samantha responded at last.
There was a mischievous look on her face that told of a plot to manipulate the words of the paladin, “Agreed but you must say ‘this is what I wish’ to confirm the exact words of what you want.”
Samantha nodded, “Albert you are under no obligation to come with us. This trip is certain to be filled with peril that you don’t need to be a part of. I am risking a lot and I may pay a heavy price even if I succeed in this task.”
“You are my Lady and as you squire it is my duty to travel with you no matter the danger if I am ever to be a paladin,” Albert explained.
“Excellent,” the fairy jumped with joy. “We must hurry I don’t want to late to my own wedding.”
“An unapproved wedding of a fairy princess,” Lady Samantha grumbled as she started leading the way. “I knew this was something we should get involved in.”
“Too late for that now mortal we have a deal,” Princess Noellene laughed joyfully.
“My word is good and in time we will see if you can say the same. Do you want to tell us about the dangers we will be facing or are you going to just leave it as a nasty surprise for us to discover when it is too late for us to do anything about it?”
“You are really a mood killer mortal but I suppose you are right. Mother doesn’t approve of my fiancee and is looking to stop the wedding from taking place. Once it takes place fairy law says she must accept him but until that happens I have been assigned someone to watch over me and they are very likely to not be happy with my escape. Mother is certain to punish them if I get married because she won’t be able to punish my husband and she loves me so her wrath will have to go somewhere. Oh, it was a great trick, I bet it took hours for them to figure out I wasn’t there anymore. I left behind my magic in the dummy.”
“You left your magic behind!?! Of all the idiotic things to do.”
“It will return in time, anyways you will be dealing with . . .”
