Jon has a big date today with Zelda, his sister's cybergoth friend.
"You mean I really don't?" Jon asked.
"Well, of course you don't," Karyn said. "Could you imagine dating that weirdo?"
Jon seemed to get a little upset when she said that. "Zelda's not a weirdo, Karyn. She's nice. Maybe it's a little weird that she's one of my sister's best friends. But she obviously doesn't care, so I don't either."
Karyn stared at him. She knew he was acting like this because of what she wrote, but she figured that reality would change so that he was forced to go on a date with Zelda, as part of a dare or something. But he genuinely wanted to date her.
"But she's a cybergoth, Jon. You know, blue hair and latex clothes? You two aren't even a good match."
"I was thinking about that," Jon said. "Maybe I could use the stone to change myself. I always wondered what it would be like to be a cybergoth."
"Okay, Jon. Stop. I'm putting an end to this," Karyn said, reaching for the pencil. But as she did, the doorbell rang, making her pause.
"She's here," Jon said, excitedly. He ran out of his room and down the stairs.
Karyn looked back at the pencil and picked it up.
