Karyn giggled to herself as she explained to Jon what they would be doing that night. So far Jon hadn't recognised his best friend. There was a moment where he had a look of recognition on his face but that passed quickly. Karyn wondered when or if she should tell him. Maybe she should just see how far they would get before Jon noticed. Once they had finished their drinks Karyn asked Jon "Shall we go?" Jon nodded and Karyn offered her arm out to him and Jon took it. They walked out of the bar and found that their limo was still waiting for them. They approached the vehicle and Karyn held Jon's door open for him. Jon smiled at Karyn and then sat down. Karyn shut the door and then crossed over to the over side of the car and got in. Once she was in, she told the driver where they going. The driver nodded and then drove off. Throughout the ride Jon and Karyn talked, getting to know each other a little. Soon they reached their destination and got out. Karyn told the driver that she would call him when they were ready to be picked up.
Jon and Karyn entered the restaurant arm in arm. Karyn approached the maître and asked for their table. The maître nodded and then after confirming the reservation under "Mr Black" took them to their table. Karyn held out Jon's chair as he sat down and then sat down herself. The waiter handed them each a menu and as Jon started to look through Karyn order to glasses of champagne. "Champagne?" Jon asked his date as the waiter disappeared. Karyn nodded "Sure, why not?" Shrugging her shoulders, let's start off with a celebration. "Oh ok" Jon replied smiling at his date. "He's a really handsome man" Jon thought to himself as he looked at his date, still having no idea that it was Karyn. The waiter came back and poured them champagne. Karyn and Jon clinked their glasses and then took a sip. Soon the waiter came and asked if they were ready to order. The two friends nodded. Karyn ordered a steak and a glass of red wine while Jon ordered a healthy salad and a glass of white wine. As the waiter took their order, Jon excused himself from his date to go to the ladies room and freshen up.
In the ladies room Jon was standing in front of the mirror repairing his makeup. "Well, so far so good" Jon thought to himself. The date was going really well so far and Mr Black seemed to have no idea that he wasn't really Evangeline Lilly. He was going to win that prize money for sure. Jon had enjoyed the champagne and was looking forward to the main meal. The restaurant was in a really romantic location. Mr Black seemed to be pulling out all the stops for Jon. Even though they hadn't been together for very long Jon was already starting to feel a strong attraction to the man. Jon did one final check-up of his appearance in the mirror and then headed back into the restaurant to re-join his date
