On their way to Victoria's Secret, Jen mentioned something that seemed strange to Karyn. She said that she was glad to be shopping with Karyn instead of her sister, because she was such an airhead. Karyn never thought of Zoe as an airhead. Why would Jen say that?
Before they got to the store, however, they were interrupted.
"Hey, losers!" They turned around and saw Sarah. Karyn recognized the girl standing next to her, but she couldn't believe it. It was Zoe, but she was no longer a Goth girl. Now her appearance seemed more in line with ... Sarah. Then, Karyn remembered the Likeness Manipulator device. Sarah must have taken it. And she used it on Jen's sister to make her more like her.
"What do you want, Sarah?" Jen said.
"Oh, I don't know. I think I just wanted to use this," Sarah said, pulling out the device and aiming it at Jen and Karyn.
"Don't do this, please," Karyn pleaded.
But Sarah didn't lower the device. "I want more friends, and I'd love it if you two never existed anymore. With this gun, I can have both of those things at the same time." She smiled.
Karyn braced herself. But really, it would do no good. Soon, she'll be acting, dressing, and thinking just like Sarah. She'll actually like Sarah and consider her as her friend. She was getting sick just thinking about it.
