On the way back to the parking lot, they saw a couple of non-Goths that had just parked their pick-up truck. When the driver got out and saw Derek, Phil, Billy, and rest of them, he looked shocked and disgusted. The woman (presumably the driver's wife) stayed in the truck.
Derek walked towards him, and Teri followed.
"Stay away from us, you freaks," the man from the truck said. He turned around when he saw his wife getting out of the truck. "Mary. Stay in the truck." She got back in the truck and closed the door.
"You didn't turn on your radio?" Teri asked.
"The radio's broken. Why?" he asked.
"No reason. But you should listen to the radio if you get the chance," Derek suggested, smiling wickedly.
The man from the truck didn't like that smile. As he backed away towards his truck, he noticed all of the other Goths and freaks that were roaming around. He started to get scared. What were they all doing here?
He got back in his truck and drove off, travelling south, deeper into the signal-affected area.
Derek and Teri turned back towards the others and got in their vehicles and left the rest stop. Then they drove to The Spiked Pit, which was in the next town. (Jon and Karyn's town.)
