When they came outside, they saw a non-Goth driving on the road. But unlike before, none of the "new" Goths were trying to convert him. They just minded their own business.
"It looks like it worked," Sabrina said.
"You know, the device is still sending out that signal," Stephanie pointed out. "So, more people will be converted."
"You're right. Maybe we should use that stone to stop the signal." Sabrina looked around. "Where did Zoe go?"
Then right when she asked that, Zoe came out of the house, grasping the stone in her hand.
"Oh, there you are. We were just thinking that we should use the stone to stop the signal. Or maybe even make it reverse what it did to everyone."
"Why would you want to do that?" Zoe asked. It was almost a fantasy for Zoe, seeing all of these people that she had known for years suddenly becoming Goths. Suddenly becoming like her. Why would she want to stop that?
"Because people shouldn't be forced to be something. That's why."
"Oh yeah? Well, I wish that all of you would want the signal to stay on."
The stone in her hand glowed, becoming slightly hot.
All of them blinked. Then Sabrina said "Of course we want it to stay on. Why wouldn't we? This is like a fantasy come true. Right, Stephanie?"
"Oh yeah. I always wondered what it would be like if everyone at school were Goths."
Zoe smiled.
"Come on, let's go see what they're all doing," Sabrina said. And they walked back towards the high school.
