"Well?" Sabrina asked. "What did you find out?"
"My brother has a magic stone."
"What? How could your brother have a magic stone?" Magic stones were rare and almost unheard of, but Goths like Sabrina and Zoe and Athena (who were deeply interested in the occult) knew about them. Athena actually had one herself, although it wasn't nearly as powerful as the one Zoe's brother had. Her stone only glowed whenever magic was being used nearby. That's all. So, to find out that someone, who wasn't even interested in the occult, could have a magic stone? It was inconceivable.
"I don't know where he got it from. I just know that he has it. At least, that's what he said on the phone."
"Did he say what kind it was?"
"He said it grants wishes." That was a very powerful stone, indeed.
"Well, if it is true," Sabrina said, "we could use it to stop everyone from changing people. How far away is your house, Zoe?"
"Not too far."
They left the school grounds and walked to Zoe's house.
