Erica's eyes burned with anger. Without thinking anything through, she charged towards Jay and pulled the device away from him, before he had a chance to blast her with it. Unfortunately, Jay had a pretty good grip on it and Erica was nervous. When she pulled back, her sweaty hands lost hold on the device and she fell to the floor.
Jay pointed the device at her.
"No, please," she pleaded weakly.
He pulled the trigger and Erica changed. But in a different way than the others. She still had jeans on and a T-shirt. But the shirt had changed from pink to black. And on the front of the shirt were the words STAR TREK, colored in yellow and in the same font as it was on the old show. Her hair became bristly and was pulled back into a ponytail. She had glasses, but they were normal ones, not thick ones. In her mouth, she felt her new braces.
"Well, that's interesting," Jay said.
"What? What did you do to me?" she said, terrified. She had become some kind of geek and soon she'd want to be that way, just as Ashley did. And that scared her.
"It appears that you're a sci-fi geek."
"A sci-fi geek?" She looked down at her Star Trek shirt and stood up quickly. "No! I can't be." Then she ran away. She didn't know where she was running to. She just wanted to get away from those geeks. She thought that if she got far enough away from them she could clear her head and not be influenced by them.
"Should I go after her?" Allison asked Jay.
"No. She'll be fine."
Allison walked over to the other geeks and sat at one of the tables. She was one of them now. And she never wanted to change back.
