Then something occured to her. She could call the other cheerleader girls. They could come and rescue her. She wasn't best friends with them, like she was with Sarah and the rest, but if she was in trouble, they'd come to help out.
She reached into her purse and pulled out her pink cellphone. She called them and told them about the situation. At first, the girl on the other end of the conversation thought that she was nuts or maybe that this was a practical joke. But she assured them that it wasn't, and told them to hurry as fast as they could. And also to be careful.
"Shouldn't we stop her?" Kyla asked. They were near the entrance to the restroom, so Ashley couldn't hear what they were saying.
"No. It'll give us more targets," Melissa said, holding up the device.
Sarah smiled, imagining the rest of the cheerleading squad as geeks.
Ashley hung up and waited for her rescue, sitting on the toilet tank.
