When Jon got to where Karyn was, the situation looked grim. One of the women that was in the store (Jon wasn't sure if she worked there or if she was just a shopper) was on the ground, wearing a long black dress, similar to the one that Sydney's mother now wore.
Two other women, who looked like they worked there, were up against the back wall, where there was a display featuring gothic jewelry, chokers, and spiked collars. They looked horrified. And they had good reason to be.
Karyn aimed the device at one of the women and fired. The woman not hit by the blast hesitantly looked at her friend, who was now wearing a black corset, black leather miniskirt and black boots. Her eyes nearly bulged out their sockets as she tried to back away from her friend who now looked like a freak, knowing that she'd be next.
"Oh, no you don't," Karyn said to the final woman left.
The woman on the floor stood up. She was no longer panicking. She had given in.
If Jon wanted to save someone, he had to act now.
