Jon had vanished. In his place stood a young woman with fiery red hair and golden brown eyes. She wore a long silky gown with bright colors that seemed to literally flow throughout the dress as though it were a river of tie dye. "Oh God," she groaned. "I'm a girl!"

"Yeah," Jonnie agreed, smiling. She had a feeling this could happen. "How does it feel?"

"Weird..." Jon muttered, picking at the part of the dress covering her cleavage. She then stared at her ring-covered hands, each one shining slightly different colors to produce a rainbow effect, and cream-colored nails. "Huh."

"Wait, how is that possible?" Karyn asked, looking up from her own outfit, a mildly provocative blue tanktop-ish thing with matching skirt. "We go to a matriarchy world and now Jon's a girl? Did you do something?" she asked Jonnie.

She shook her head, "Nothing Jon didn't do already. Want to explain, Jon, or should I?"

"Explain?" Jon asked bewilderedly. "I didn't do this! You're the girl, not me!"

"Well, theoretically speaking," Jonnie began, "The human race won't need males in a few decades. Technology will improve to the point where women can become pregnant artificially, and we can already choose what sex the child will be... So with a matriarchal society, a century ahead technologically..."

"Oh my God," Jon said, starting to get it. "A world without men!"

"Probably not entirely," Jonnie said. "Just think of it as a world where men are not as popular as women. Our mother clearly wanted us to be female, for instance."

"My mother," Jon snapped. "You're just a girl who thinks she's me!"

Jonnie jerked away, stung. She felt tears grow in her eyes. It was true, and she knew it. Her clothes had remained the same after entering this world, a clear sign she didn't exist here, wasn't supposed to exist at all.

"Jon!" Karyn growled. "She might as well be you, so treat her with respect or, God help me, I will beat some sense into you!"

"No, he's right," Jonnie admitted, wiping away her tears. "I'm not Jon, I'm a girl with Jon's memories. I've just got to... make my own, I guess."

Karyn smiled comfortingly. "Let's explore this world, give you some great new experiences. I can't imagine a better world to start out in."
