Jon brought their immediate task back into focus. "Let's make some 'preventative measure' wishes. Little things that can prevent big lossage."
Karyn thought of an easy preventative measure they could take. "OK, let's start with something simple and useful. Let's make it impossible for the stone to get lost."
Jon nodded. "That's good. OK... we do want to be able to leave it, so we can't just wish to always have it with us, so... what if we always knew where the stone was?"
Karyn wasn't sure this was good enough, but it was useful, and she couldn't see any downsides. "That's a start. Go for it."
Jon held up the stone. "I wish that Karyn and I have the ability to find the current location of the stone just by concentrating."
Karyn turned her back to Jon. "Let's test to make sure it worked. Hide the stone somewhere."
Jon looked around, and picked a spot. "Ok, it's hidden. Tell me where it is now."
Karyn grinned. "It's in your back pocket. Wow, that felt weird. It's like deja vu."
Jon produced the stone and handed it to her. "OK, I'm closing my eyes... Find a better hiding place."
Because Jon could still hear what she was doing, Karyn tried a little obfuscation. She opened up and closed the nightstand drawer, and some of the dresser drawers. She walked completely around him, and audibly ruffled the bed. Then she stood behind him and said, "OK, try now."
Jon had already gained some experience with sudden wish-induced knowlege, so the deja-vu feeling wasn't a surprise. He smirked. "Isn't that uncomfortable there in your bra? Better take it out before you accidentally use the W-word. It'll still work just fine while it's up against your skin, anywhere."
Karyn giggled. "OK, I'm convinced." She handed it back to Jon.
