Jon walked slowly to avoid attracting attention. He noticed that most of the older boys were in wheelchairs or on crutches. A few were walking on their own but at a creeping pace. Younger boys seemed physically fine but they were always accompanied by doting females catering to their every need. There were no men. This really was an alternate reality!
Something was killing off all males here before they reached adulthood. Having arrived from a different reality, Jon was immune to that something, whatever it was ... or was he?
