"It feels strange," said the clone. "I said I was going to try getting used to my body but I don't know if I can get used to it. It's appropriate that if I have a woman's womb I'd have a baby... but on the other hand, women don't just get babies inside them instantly by magic, and not a lot of teenagers try to get pregnant on purpose. Even if it's something I'd have to get used to someday, I don't have to do it at this very moment."
"So you think it's too much, then?" asked Karyn.
"Yes," replied the clone.
"All right," said Karyn. "I know you well enough--either of you--that I'd really be surprised if you were against abortion. And it's not so late term that abortion is impossible."
"He could find a clinic," said Jon.
Karyn grinned but then said "Don't tease your clone. You still have the stone, right?"
Jon nodded.
"Hand it over," said the clone. Jon was reluctant to do so, but being glared at by both Karyn and his own face convinced him to let it go. The clone took the stone and said "I wish I'm not pregnant." In an instant he was back to his previous state and the machine's screen now showed that it hadn't made anything recently except the clone himself. Even his clothes were back--history had changed so that he had never had a reason to unzip his zipper, after all.
The clone then considered the stone. "I ought to make a wish, but I just don't know."
"What wish are you going to make?" asked Karyn.
"Let me guess," said the original Jon. "You want a penis? The stone can do that."
"No," said the clone. "How am I supposed to get used to having a vagina if I don't have one?" He looked at the stone once again and said "I'm going to go for it," then made his wish.
