"Jon, would you mind leaving? I really have to get this done," Zoe said.
"What exactly are you doing?" Jon asked.
"Physics."
"Physics? But you're only a freshman."
"Yeah, but they made an exception for me. Because I'm so smart." She said that in a high-and-mighty sort of way, which kind of made Jon think of Sarah McMillan. "Now, run along. I'm busy."
Jon and Karyn left and went back to Jon's bedroom.
"Maybe turning her into this wasn't the best idea. Now she's a know-it-all," Jon said.
"Maybe give it a little more time, Jon," Karyn said. "This has got to be better than before, when she was a Goth."
"I hope you're right."
