While Jon was gone, Alan decided to keep looking, instead of waiting for Jon. It was just by pure accident that he bumped into Sarah McMillan, who was walking out of a music store.
"Hey! Watch where you're going, you stupid loser!"
He looked up, a little dizzy. "Sarah!" He stood up. "Where's your sister?"
"Why do you want to know? Are you stalking her or something?"
"No. Of course not. It's just that she took something from my friend Jon. And he wants it back."
"Tough luck, then."
"Huh?"
"Whatever it was, you're not getting it back."
"But it's stealing!"
"Doesn't matter to me. Karyn can do whatever she wants." She paused for a moment and stared at Alan's pants. "What are you doing?"
"Huh?" He looked down and saw that he had his hand down his pants, rubbing his member. "What does it look like? I'm whacking off. You're just so hot, Sarah."
Sarah brushed past him.
"Wait, come back," he said. But she kept walking, until she disappeared into the crowd. Mothers walking by gave Alan dirty looks, so he removed his hand from his pants, a little embarrased.
Around a corner nearby, Karyn smiled.
