"First of all," said Karyn, "I wish that each of you would split into two, becoming twins... for now." Karyn didn't say how fast it would take for this to happen, so it happened too fast to really gloat over the ongoing transformation; their bodies just shimmered and standing where Joy was were two Joy's, the spot between them being where the original Joy had stood, and similarly for Alan; instead of one boy with big hips and a skirt standing in one place, there were two, each right next to it. Neither seemed to be the "original"--one had become two.
"That seemed... totally random," said one Joy. The other Joy continued, "Yes, totally random. Hey, you're me and you're talking like me!"
"But it's not." Karyn smiled wickedly. "I wish that one Joy would age down to before being born, and likewise for one Alison. I wish that then Joy would become pregnant with the baby Alison and Alison pregnant with the baby Joy. I wish that the babies will keep all their memories but think of their new mothers as their mothers."
Each of the pairs of twins could do nothing else but look at each other helplessly, wondering if s/he was going to be the mother or child. One of the Joy's, and one Alison standing across from her, began to shrink, going back to age 13, back to before puberty, his/her clothes somehow shrinking along the way until they could no longer walk. There were soon two crawling infants on the grass and then... they had just disappeared. Alison felt something kick in her stomach and looked down to realize she was now a boy with a skirt, female hips and vagina, and a pregnant belly. Joy realized the same. Both were pregnant with their own best friend, even though they could still see their friend standing there as well, now strangely pregnant.
"How could you do this?" said Joy.
"I told you. You never need to worry about being disguised as girls again. Oh, two other things. I wish that your babies will age fast until they start puberty, and they will have to dress like girls until they start looking male. Which should probably be around the same point, now that I think of it."
Sarah approached the window from the inside. "Did you hear that?" asked Karyn.
"Yeah," she said.
"Good," replied Karyn. "Explaining it to you would have been hard if you didn't hear the wish. Any other suggestions?"
Sarah thought a moment and then whispered something to Karyn. Karyn gripped the stone and said....
